Guitar Fretwork & Setup Workshops

Our guitar tech & setup workshops are specifically tailored to train players, rodies, repair techs and aspiring Luthiers how properly setup and repair stringed instruments. Each student receives hands-on training, an impressive tool kit, Tech~Sheets from multiple manufacturers, my latest best selling book and a certificate of completion. Guitar setup experience prefered but not required to be admitted to the 5 day or the 8 day boot camp. Applicants must have atleast one year of guitar care & maintenance experience. We offer discounts for US Military Veterans & First Responders. All students must be 18 or older to be accepted.

Classes are limited to 4 students!

We will cover the following:

• Setting up acoustic, electric and bass guitars
• Pickup installation & adjustment (acoustic & electric guitars)
• Refrets (bound & un-bound necks)
• Neck Resets on bolt-on necks (including electrics guitars and Taylor Acoustic Guitars)
• Carving a bridge saddle & string nut
• Administrative requirements (insurance, business license, resale certificates, etc.)
• Evaluating & troubleshooting problems
• Enhanced customer service skills

The workshop is taught from a customer service perspective. In other words, we teach you how to adjust the guitar to the player's playing style. Providing you with great customer services skills to help you communicate with your clients and manufacturers effectively. Combined with the setup and repair skills you'll learn, this workshop can improve your profits.

Students may bring one or two guitars (acoustic, electric, bass, mandolin, etc.), and a desire to learn.

Workshop cost is $4,200 per student. 50% of tuition is due 30 days before the workshop begins. The remaining balance is due on the first day of class.

Workshop includes tool kit ($2,100 value), materials & supplies, and training manuals.

Guitar Setup & Wiring Workshops

5 Day Boot Camp (40 hours of training)

Our Setup & Wiring Training is a hands-on class specializing in setups, strings nut & bridge saddles, intonation and wiring. Offered as a 5 day bootcamp and limited to four students. Here's what you'll learn:

• Setting up acoustic, electric or bass guitars
• Adjusting Truss Rods
• Carving a bridge saddle & string nut
• Adjusting Intonation & Tempering
• Replacing and Re-Wiring electronics
• Evaluating & troubleshooting problems

Workshop cost is $2,600 per student. 50% of tuition is due 30 days before the workshop begins. The remaining balance is due on the first day of class.

Workshop includes tool kit ($1,300 value), materials & supplies, and training manuals.

Grades

Grading is based on three types of exams; written, performance and presentation. Students with a grade of 80% or higher will receive a certificate of completion. Students who score 88% or higher will have the opportunity to apply to several manufacturers to become an Authorized Service Center (Bronze or Silver level) for those manufacturers. We are working closely with companies like Taylor Guitars and several others to provide excellent hands-on training.

Guitar Setup & Wiring Workshop

Advanced Dove-Tail Neck Reset Workshop

This program provides skills training for guitar repair tech's to learn advanced repair & restoration techniques. Students entering the advanced course must have either completed one of our previous Guitar Tech & Setup Workshops or pass an entrance exam before being admitted to the workshop. We offer discounts for US Military Veterans & First Responders. All students must be 18 or older to be accepted.

Classes are limited to 4 students!

We will cover the following:

• Neck resets (dovetail neck joints)
• Finish touchup
• Advanced administrative requirements (insurance, business license, resale certificates, etc.)
• Advanced customer service skills

Students need to bring at-least two All-Solid Wood Acoustic Guitars, with Dove-tail Neck Joint (preferably American Made). Workshop includes a complete tool kit, materials & supplies.

Workshop cost is $3,900 per student. 50% of tuition is due 30 days before the workshop begins. The remaining balance is due on the first day of class.

This program provides skills training for guitar repair tech's to learn advanced repair & restoration techniques. • Structural repairs (broken headstocks, braces, body cracks)
• Bridge & bridge plate replacement
• How to replace a pickgaurd on acoustic guitars
• Finish touchup
• Advanced administrative requirements (insurance, business license, resale certificates, etc.)
• Advanced customer service skills

Students need to bring at-least two All-Solid Wood Acoustic Guitars. Workshop includes a complete tool kit, materials & supplies.
